| Choosing to become a Christian
is the single most important decision you will ever make in your life. Because
it is such an important decision, these notes are written to help you understand
what it means to become a Christian. |
| Things to Know
|
1. God loves every
person, and that includes you.
John 3:16-- "For God so loved the world (you) that he gave his one
and only Son (Jesus) that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have
eternal life." |
|
2. Every
person has done wrong things.
Romans 3:23-- "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." |
3. Sin has terrible
results (eternal separation from God).
Romans 6:23--- "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God
is eternal life." |
4. Jesus Christ
paid for all that we've done wrong.
Romans 5:8--- "But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While
we are all sinners, Christ died for us." |
| 5. There is only
one way to heaven and that is through Him. |

| Lets look at a summary
of what you need to know: |
1) Know that God loves you and
wants you to be saved.
2) Admit that you have sinned and need his forgiveness.
3) Know that there is nothing you can do to earn salvation yourself.
4) Believe in your heart that Jesus died for you and rose from the grave.
5) Be willing to turn away from your sins and ask Jesus to save you. |

If so why not ask Him right now?
Here is a simple prayer you can say to ask Him into your heart. There's
nothing special about the words, you can use your own. What matters is that
you mean it. |
"Dear God, I can see
how much you love me. Thank you for making it possible for me to be saved.
I have sinned against You and I am truly sorry. I believe with all of my
heart that Jesus died for me so my sins could be forgiven. Right now I am
turning from my sins and accepting Jesus Christ as Savior and Master of
my life. Thank you for your gift of salvation. Please help me to tell others
about you and grow as a new Christian.
In Jesus name I pray, Amen." |
| Know you are saved and you have
a spot in heaven waiting for you, but more importantly you have a personal
relationship with God. |
